Web 2.0 Properties – Do They Still Work?

Do Web 2.0 properties still provide the power they once did in the past? Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. It depends on the age of the property and how long it has been around. If you have an older web 2.0 property like Squidoo or a Blogger site, then these will still provide you the same kind of interest they once did in the past.

Web 2.0 PropertiesWhat you don’t want to do is trust they will provide you link juice or love from Google. Those days are gone. I would tell you to focus more on providing good quality content to your web 2.0 sites and then link to your money sites. This is not for Google, but for your visitors who happen to find you through one of your web 2.0 properties.

As they read through your content you can provide one or two links in each post to bring them to your main money site. On your money site they can either optin, find more information or make a purchase from you .

This is How This Works

I am going to show you how this nicely works, because it works on me all the time. A few months ago I was looking for a service for my offline dance studio. I put the search criteria into a Bing search to see what might pop up. I use Bing and Google to search for what I need.

What popped up were some relevant services that were in the market I was searching in. I happened to click on a site that gave some in depth information on the service, what to watch out and what to do next. At the bottom of the post, it stated, “If you want more information on where to buy and how to get in touch with someone click here”. So I clicked…

It took me over to the merchant’s site. There I was able to find out how to buy the service and also information on how to contact the person. I called them and we are now negotiating on a price for the service I need.

You can do the same thing with your websites. Just provide good content that will drive a visitor to your money site. This stuff works.

And by the way I found this service through Bing and I did not click on the first page of Bing to find this service. I clicked on the third page. I stopped searching for products and services on the first page of any search engine. Most of the stuff there is generated by Google Ads or Bing Ads. Look deeper to find the true industry leaders that can help you with a question or service.

If you are interested in creating something like a Squidoo lens, I added this video below. There are plenty of other videos on YouTube that can help you create any of the web 2.0 properties such as Blogger, WordPress.com, Weebly… etc.
