The way to a heart is through the stomach and the way through to the heart of your visitors is through social interaction. In no time in the history of the internet have we seen more reasons to start blogging. Google wants and needs bloggers who want to share relevant content with their readers. They need blogs that are dead on target with the content they deliver.

If you are blogging about Photography, then it is best to stick to that subject day in and day out. If you are blogging about dogs, then once again it is best to stick to talking about dogs.

For instance, this website is about online marketing, so I do my best to tie in all my articles into marketing. The products I talk about, news and the methods I use are all geared to online marketing and business.

Five Steps to Social Media Optimization

1) The first thing a blogger needs to ask him or herself is this question. What makes your blog unique to the world? Find out what that is and then test it against the market. Are you blogging about what people care about? Write on topics that are interesting and with riveting content. You don’t want your content to be boring or useless. Write about what has helped you in life or in business and you will be dead on to what people are looking for in a good blog.

2) Research your market (niche) and find keywords that can be tied into your articles. Create videos around the same keywords and sell products that are closely tied to those keywords.

3) Not as important as engaging your visitors, but still relevant is on page optimization (SEO). It is still important, but not crucial to your success as a blogger.

4) On the top of the list is socially engaging your visitors. Your content should be fresh and eye catching. Use a catchy title and get people to read. In turn your visitors will click on your social buttons, share, LIKE and do all those things that will create social backlinks back to your website. As a responsibility blogger you should also retweet, Google +1, Facebook or choose your favorite social service and share other bloggers content.

5) Finally you want to monitor your progress. Tools such as SEMRush, MarketSamurai, KeywordCanine, Raven tools and others are great ways to monitor your progress in the SERP’s.
