Domain Age – Strategies to Buying Aged Domains

A domain age is still important when you are looking to get a jump on driving traffic and Google page position. I have never shared my methods for buying aged domains with anyone in the past. This is my first time showing this method. I am pretty sure you have never seen it done this way or with the fast results I am getting. I generally buy a domain from an auction and either use it as a marketing aid or I build a website around it. I use Hostgator as my hosting provider and use one of the many premium themes I promote through this website.

The reason I am showing you this method, is I want you to stop paying for those high priced monthly tools. All they do is charge you $37 dollar or more for old queries or queries that are wrong and don’t work. You basically need to double check everything anyway, so why throw away money, when you don’t need to?

Here is criteria to capture when searching for aged domains:

  1. You want to ensure there are backlinks coming to the domain from “Majestic SEO”. Forget about Yahoo Explorer, the databases are old and not updated. Information from the Yahoo databases are useless.
  2. You want to ensure there is page rank “PR” attached to the domain. (Look for a domain with a minimum PR of ’1′. I generally look for a PR of ’3′ or higher. You can usually find these for about $30 go $60 dollars.
  3. You want to ensure there are some pages indexed in Google. (Pages indexed in Yahoo and Bing are a nice to have, but not a necessity)
  4. You want to ensure the domain is over a year old.
  5. You want to ensure you can afford the domain, so follow along with the attributes I setup in GoDaddy.

Below is the video I would like you to watch. It is going to show you the step-by-step methods I currently use to buy all my domains. As I mentioned I do not use any of the monthly paid tools you can find online. I only use two tools that work very well for me.

I have had a lot of success with the method in this video. As I mentioned above, I do this with only using two tools. The first tool is Market Samurai and the other tools is GoDaddy. If you have them both, then you are in luck. If not you can buy Market Samurai from this link. It is a bare link and I make no money if you click on it or not.

You will also need to pay for a two year subscription to GoDaddy. But do not worry a two year subscription is only a few dollars. All you are doing it paying to access the auction area and save your results. SO… do not pay for anything other than that. GoDaddy will try to upsell you on things you do not need. Just purchase the auction access. I think it is still $4.99 for two years of access. I hope you enjoy the video in researching a good domain with a older domain age.
